The language
of Revelation is full of allegory, symbolism, and mysticism,
and often correlates the reality of the universe and of our inner
lives - the empowerment of love, the joy of contentment, the
grace of forgiveness and encouragement, the power and strength
of truth and justice, the purity of stillness and tranquillity,
the comfort of guidance, the healing and refreshing balm of wisdom
and enlightenment, and the simple awe and astonishment in our
creation and in our Creator - to things we can see, feel, smell,
taste and hear: to the phenomena of growth, beauty, replenishment,
and the nearly infinite variety of form and fragrance; to the
intricate and subtle delicacies, the bold sensualities, and the
awesome displays of power and majesty, of the natural features
that make up our physical world.
This work is
a humble attempt to stimulate, in the mind and heart of the viewer,
receptivity, imagination and a sense of awe, wonder and astonishment
at the beauty of the world of creation and its relationship to
things unseen. This work does NOT represent any attempt to offer
an interpretation of religion or of any of the writings quoted
herein. Its intention is rather to suggest a connection, to inspire
imagination, and to hopefully bring a little light and comfort
into the life of the beholder.
The quotations
currently used in this collection are excerpted from the Bahá'í
Writings, the Bible, and the Bhagavad-Gita. I intend to continue
researching the holy texts of all faiths, and the utterances
of other inspired souls, to use in this collection. I realize
that many viewers of this collection will not be familiar with
the Bahá'í Faith; I'll only mention here that it
is a gentle, tolerant faith which recognizes the divine origin
of all the major religions of the world, and invites the peoples
of the world to unite in peace, justice and universal brotherhood.
These various writings have inspired me to see the reflection
of the Divine in the natural world around me. The Bahá'í
Writings state:
|
"Know
thou that every created thing is a sign of the revelation of
God."
"Upon
the inmost reality of each and every created thing He hath shed
the light of one of His names, and made it a recipient of the
glory of one of His attributes."

I am willing
- at no extra charge - to custom-create a "Reflections-style"
image for individual clients. If you have an idea, a specific
quotation in mind for use with one of these images, or for a
quotation in a language other than English, please contact me.
The images used
in this collection are taken from the other pages in this site.
